Available Dates and Moon Phases for the Next Four Months

Thank you for interest in astronomy and your request to visit Lucile Miller Observatory.

For the time being, Use the calendar pull down on the menu bar to the left to search for available dates.



We strongly recommend that you pick a primary date AND an alternate rain date if you desire an observing program. The weather and sky cannot be predicted this far in advance. Many groups are requesting dates and we will reserve your evening on a first come first served basis. Please let us know of your date selections and visit time and requirements as soon as possible.


Once we have confirmed your dates, you will receive automatic reminders of your observing dates two days before the event. At that time we urge you to check the weather links on our LMO main page for the latest potential conditions. DO NOT rely on the television forecasts, they make no effort to indicate if the sky will be CLEAR for observing.

Remember too that observing conditions at your location the morning of your observing date is NO predictor of observing conditions at Lucile Miller Observatory or your location that evening!
